MFG.com and Messe Frankfurt North America Announce Partnership
|
Messe Frankfurt North America announces a partnership with MFG.com, the
largest global online marketplace for manufacturers looking to source custom parts,
standard components, assemblies and textiles. The two companies will start
working together in conjunction on the New York textile events, which consist of
Texworld USA, International Apparel Sourcing Show and Home Textiles Sourcing
Expo, all taking place July 19-21, 2011, at the Javits Convention Center.
Adding MFG.com to our existing collaboration with Stylesight, Lenzing and our
other partners, makes our shows in New York that much more valuable must-
attend' events, says David Audrain, president and ceo of Messe Frankfurt North
America.
MFG.com will be the online sourcing partner of Messe Frankfurt North America in
an effort to create a year-round community. Messe Frankfurt's textile shows provide
the opportunity to meet directly with suppliers face-to-face and examine samples in
person. In light of recent fiber and resource concerns, the importance of developing
these relationships with live meetings has only increased. Textile trade shows allow
exhibitors to show a larger part of their collection than what they are able to convey
via photographs or small swatches couriered back and forth overseas and the
quality of hand feel can only be assessed in person.
The idea of unifying the online and offline sourcing experience for both buyers
and suppliers makes sense. MFG.com is thrilled to be working closely with Messe
Frankfurt North America here in the USA for the Texworld USA, Apparel Sourcing
and Home Textiles Sourcing shows in New York City, says Tony Forcucci, global
director of the textiles and apparel sourcing marketplace at MFG.com.
Though a show directory with exhibitor contact information is distributed to
attendees at every show, Messe Frankfurt Show Management receives calls year-
round from buyers asking for resources. With apparel manufacturers and retailers
planning for more deliveries throughout the year and responding to quickly evolving
market trends, there is a need for an online sourcing partner to compliment the
textile shows.
