HKTDC Hong Kong International Home Textiles Fair Runs April 20-23
|
The HKTDC Hong Kong International Home Textiles Fair will return in April to
provide worldwide suppliers and buyers a specific trade platform for home
textiles products. Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council
(HKTDC), the fair will take place concurrently with the 26th HKTDC Hong Kong
Houseware Fair from April 20-23, 2011 at the Hong Kong Convention and
Exhibition Centre to showcase all sorts of textiles one would find in a household,
including baby textiles, carpets, floor coverings, upholstery, as well as textiles
used in the bathroom and bedroom.
The Home Textiles Fair was established in 2010 as a spin-off of the
Houseware Fair due to the strong demand in the home textiles zone. The
inaugural Home Textiles Fair was well received by the industry with more than
14,300 buyers from 114 countries and regions in attendance.
Following its successful debut, this years fair is expecting more than 240
exhibitors from about 10 countries and regions, including the Chinese mainland,
India, Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia, Vietnam and Spain. Among them, the Chinese
mainland exhibitors will be participating as a pavilion, featuring exhibitors from
main production bases of home textiles products, including the Jiangsu province
and Zhejiang province. The Indian exhibitors will be grouped into two pavilions,
led by the Handloom Export Promotion Council and the Export Promotion
Council for Handicrafts.
As worldwide industry players will be gathering at the fair, it is a perfect
marketing opportunity for brands seeking to gain more recognition. At the fair's
premium zone, Hall of Glamour, exhibitors will be boosting their brand's image
and brand recognition with customized booth designs. Among the vibrant mix of
exhibitors will be a renowned local company, A-Fontane Group, which will
present products made with Promodal, an innovative eco-friendly material
produced by Lenzing Austria, manufacturer of cellulose fibers. Delight Home
Textiles, another well-established local manufacturer and exporter with Europe
and the U.S. as its major export markets, will also promote their products at the
Hall of Glamour. Other featured exhibitors of this zone include Repar Industrial
Corp from Taiwan and Sharda Exports from India, which will showcase blinds
made from natural materials and eco-friendly rugs, respectively.
Carpet & Floor Covering is expected to be the largest product zone. Covering
an exhibition space of about 600sqm, the zone will present fine carpets and
floor coverings, including valuable Persian carpets. Indian companies will also
exhibit in this zone to showcase exquisite hand-made rugs and carpets.
Bedroom Textiles will be another popular zone. Conveniently located at the
center of the fairground, a wide range of bedding products, including bed sheets,
pillowcases, quilts and duvet covers will be presented.
As more consumers are trying to take a green approach to life, the fair will
also highlight exhibitors with quality green home textiles products, helping
buyers to address the growing demand for these specialized products in the
market. Among the special products will be hand-woven blinds and mats made
from natural sustainable materials such as palm, reed and bamboo, which will
create little harm to the environment upon disposal. There will also be colorful
patchwork rugs created from used garments such as sweaters, t-shirts, ties and
jeans.
To equip exhibitors and buyers with up-to-date market intelligence, there will
be a series of activities including seminars conducted by industry experts on the
trends of the home textiles market. One of the highlights will be a product
launch session hosted by A-Fontane Group to introduce home textiles products
made with Promodal, during which experts from Lenzing Austria will also be
invited to explain the manufacturing process and applications of Promodal.
Taking place under the same roof as the Hong Kong Houseware Fair, the
largest household sourcing platform in Asia, the natural synergy between the two
fairs is expected to draw additional buyers to the Home Textiles Fair. For more
