Prepare to be filled with surprise and delight during your visit to AmericasMart for the Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market from Jan. 6-13 (temporaries 8-12), 2010. The fine linens floors 9 and 10 in Building 1 have been energized with the strategic staging of anchor showrooms that span 3,000 square feet or more, the expansion of several showrooms and the addition of new ones.
Multi-Line Rep Anchors
On floor 9, McPhatter & Associates adds Gordonsbury Collection, Kevin O’Brien Studio, Lycella Down by DeWoolfson, Rain and pür brands to its existing lines of fine linens and home accents. The Christian Mosso Group, specializing in high-end gifts, linens, home accents and specialty items, has renewed its lease for a total of nearly 20,000 square feet of premium product. Codarus, offering designer-driven home accents, bedding, linens and gifts, has expanded its showroom to more than 6,000 square feet and welcomed the Justin Camlin Furniture line.
On floor 10, Alexander Terry & Associates has integrated the Acorn Hill Collection, Baltic and Sacred Glo into the more than 30 companies it already represents.
In addition to the multi-line sales representatives, other anchors include Bobo Intriguing Objects, a new showroom addition, and Saro Trading Company, both on floor 9, and Barreveld International and DK Living on floor 10.
Showrooms new to AmericasMart include Sferra Bros. Ltd., Marcel Miller and Luna Bella, Inc. on floor 9 and Lina’s Interiors, Inc. on floor 10.
Oopsy Daisy Fine Art for Kids and Studio Avo have relocated on floor 9. Solaria, Inc. has expanded and Barreveld, DK Living, Pablo Mekis Artisan Pillows and Davenport Home Furnishings, Inc. have relocated on floor 10.
Aligning with these floors, the home furnishings and accessories floors 11-14 continue to develop into a designer-driven center.
“With this growth, we have reinvented ourselves and created a fresh center unlike any other. We look forward to its continued development in 2010 and beyond,” says Dave Savula, senior vice-president of Building 1.
Special Presentations
AmericasMart has also assembled a roster of well-known interior designers and online media experts to bring you up-to-date on style and marketing technology. For times, dates and locations, visit americasmart.com, but meantime, here is a rundown of planned speakers and topics:
Kathryn M. Ireland draws from themes covered in her new book, Creating a Home, in a presentation on her design philosophy and the unique sources she’s discovered around the world. She shares her process of combining pattern, texture and color to create spaces that prompt the feelings of a well-lived life. A book signing follows the session.
Interior designer Tom Filicia shares his approach to design followed by a meet-and-greet and signing for his book, Style: Inspired Ideas for Creating Rooms You’ll Love.
The keynote presentation, “It’s a People Driven Economy, Stupid!” will be delivered by Erik Qualman, author of Socialnomics. Qualman expands on the idea from his book that we no longer search for the news today—it finds us—and that soon we will no longer search for products and services; rather they will be pushed our way by our friends and acquaintances via social media. Take away a free copy of Socialnomics, which will be distributed after the presentation on a first-come first-served basis while supplies last.
Other sessions related to online marketing and social media include:
WITHit Seminar: “Social Media Success: Low Cost and No Cost Marketing Tools Today” given by Melissa Gilt, a relationship marketing specialist and social media strategist.
“The Accidental Blogger” presented by interior designer Brad Ford, whose quest for inspiration detoured him into the world of social media marketing and its buzz-worthy, brand-building and attention-grabbing capabilities. Brad Ford is the creator of the design blog DesignTherapy.com.
During AmericasMart University’s “Building Your Brand—Beginner Level, Bringing Your Business Online,” Nick Goebel helps you understand the concepts of online business, why you should get started today and how to choose a web designer who is a good fit for your company.
