Home Textiles Sourcing At Javits

Home Textiles Sourcing Expo features new options in fabrics and finished goods July 22 to 24 at Javits Convention Center

The annual Home Textiles Sourcing Expo, co-located with Texworld USA and the International Apparel Sourcing Show, takes place Tuesday, July 22 to Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the Javits Convention Center. Home Textile Sourcing Expo is one of the largest sourcing events in North America that solely focuses on fabrics and finished soft goods for all home applications.

The expo showcases a full spectrum of fabric and finished soft goods manufactured for these categories: bath, bed, floor coverings, kitchen, outdoor, pillows, tabletop, upholstery, wall coverings and window coverings. The exhibit hall is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday; and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday. Registration is complimentary for industry professionals.

Messe Frankfurt, Inc. produces the event in partnership with CCPIT TEX, The Sub-Council of Textile Industry, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.

The educational program includes seminars complimentary to attendees with no registration required. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, with doors open 30 minutes prior to start time. Seminar highlights include:

Tuesday, July 22

11:00 a.m.—“Engaging With Color In Autumn/Winter 2015/2016,” Laurie Pressman, vice-president, Pantone Color Institute

Reflecting our optimistic feelings about the future, color statements for autumn/winter 2015/16 are confident, gradually moving from wispy, negligible shades to more intense tones and stronger color bursts, highlighting some classic tones along the way. Find out how you can playfully engage with color without the commercial risk.

12:30 p.m.—“Innovation In Bedding For 2015,” moderated by Marci Zaroll, Under The Canopy, the panel includes: Brian Ashley, brand manager, Field & Stream Bedding; Ron Gilboa, director, Functional & Industrial Printing Service, Infotrends; and Mark Woodman, Mark Woodman design+color

The market is all about innovation. The seminar explores the latest innovations in home for bedding products in trends, design, print and color.

Wednesday, July 23

2:00 p.m.—“Design Options Presents Fall 2015 Color And Lifestyle Trends For The Home,” Fran Sude, vice-president, Design Options

The environment of the body has become one with the environment of the home. Winning color combinations, prints, fabrics and trims that will ensure your products sell are revealed.

Thursday, July 24

9:00 to 11:00 a.m.—“Animal Welfare Issues And Textiles Working Group,” Anne Gillespie, director of industry integrity, Textile Exchange and Karla Magruder, founder, Fabrikology International

The world is waking up to animal welfare issues connected to down, wool and angora. While the basic rights of the animals that produce these fibers are the same, the interpretation for the different supply chains is vastly different. In this two-part session, the first half reveals the issues facing the different animal fiber sources and potential solutions; in the second half, attendees break into groups to discuss the issues in depth.

2:00 p.m.—“Creating A More Sustainable Line,” Eileen Mockus, ceo, Coyuchi

Creating a more environment friendly home textile line is a requirement in today’s market. The cross between regulation and consumer demand is a collection that uses preferred fibers, meets international standards and is beautiful. In this seminar, learn how you can fulfill these requirements and deliver great products.
