Carl Goldstein Passes & Is Honored
For Lifetime Achievement By HFPA
Carl Goldstein, vice-chairman of S. Lichtenberg & Co., the company he had been with since 1976, and author of Life Of A Salesman: Behind The Curtain, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013. He was buried at New Montefiore Cemetery on Monday, Oct. 21, 2013 and is survived by Lynn, his wife of 49 years, children Scott and Vanessa Goldstein, and Wendy and Steven Yevoli, and grandchildren Bryn, Reid, Dean, Sloane and Trace.
Days before his passing, the Home Fashion Products Association (HFPA) announced it would honor Carl Goldstein, a member of the Board of Directors, with a Lifetime Achievement Award at its annual meeting on Nov. 13, 2013. This is the first award of its kind granted by the HFPA, which in years to come will continue to be awarded to worthy honorees in Goldstein’s name.
Goldstein had served on the Board of the HFPA since 1971, when the organization was called the Curtain & Drapery Association. The Board is honoring him for all of his contributions, dedication and support to the Board and to the industry at large. He had contributed especially to cultivating the next generation of marketers and designers, leading the HFPA student scholarship program for many years.
The annual meeting also includes a review of the organization’s accomplishments this year and a presentation by Sarah Davanzo, chief cultural strategy officer, Sparks & Honey, on the future consumer, how the world around her is changing and what that means for home products makers.
The HFPA annual meeting, including the award presentation, takes place on Nov. 13, 2013 at the Buyers Lounge in 295 Fifth Avenue from 9 to 11 a.m. Guests pay $75 per person, with checks payable to HFPA. All RSVPs should be sent to Ellery Moses at firstname.lastname@example.org.
